Help Buddy Rescue!!

by , in
Buddy is a 1 year old (stray), who was hit by a Truck in clarksville TN, well they didn't stop, buddy didn't die. He sat there miserably. I found him laying on the side of the road! Animal control was called, his legal 72 hour hold is up, they were going to have buddy put down because the county can't afford putting his leg back together. It is broken in two spots.(femur, and another bone) This surgery will cost $1000 plus dollars.
Buddy!! The Rescued Dog
Well, we thought we were in the clear there as they were two clean breaks,  but he is also heart worm positive! ( this will cost a good amount to clear and is an over time treatment).

This only doubles the cost to save buddy's life!We have saved about $400 total that we can pay to his bill. His total vet bill is just over 2000. All money goes directly to the  veterinarian's office, and encouraged to call! Also check out Sango Veterinary hospital
Plus a 200$ voucher from the Humane Society!

Palm Valley Animal Center (PVAC), Stop Mistreating Animals

by , in
Animal Shelter - Palm Valley Animal Center (PVAC) Located in Edinburg, Texas. They hold a 501(c)(3)[Non-Profit Organization]. They have agreements with surrounding cities. They get paid BIG bucks by surrounding cities (looks like 1.69MILLION, per 2015 tax return, Video Below) to be a dumping ground for stray dogs, cats and wildlife. Intake at this shelter is something unheard of-approximately 100+ animals are brought here, DAILY!!! You and I both know, NO shelter can house that many animals, therefore, carts and carts of animals are killed everyday.
Down the street (about 20 miles) sits a beautiful adoption center, called Laurie P Andrews (PAWS) Adoption Center. Per the tax returns, they made a mere $216K in adoptions in 2015. Again, we have tried to get explanations with no luck, therefore, we are posting how we are reading the tax returns, Video Below. They come over and pick the cream of the crop - the cute and healthy ones. Those lucky few, are move over to the PAWS adoption center. They are bathed, seen by a Veterinarian, examined, fully vaccinated and spayed/neutered. Back at PVAC, animals that are sick and have severe injuries are left to suffer with no antibiotics and/or pain medication. Dogs, including puppies & pregnant moms, are wheeled in the back daily to be killed. PVAC has no control over the condition of the animal when it arrives, but what they do behind closed doors, is our concern.

DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT REBECA VILLANUEVA to step OUT. They have, for too long, turned a blind eye to the serious problems at PVAC. Their lack of empathy and leadership is apparent, and these positions need to be held by those who not only stand behind the Mission Statement, but also fight to make changes to the cities (community) that are impacting their non-profit!

Before you start yelling out, “This place needs to be shut down”, think again. There needs to be a place for these animals. But THERE NEEDS TO BE CHANGE!
WE WANT CHANGE AND WILL NO LONGER LOOK AWAY!!!
After reviewing a few of the contractual agreements between PVAC and the surrounding cities, we were appalled that PVAC, a 501(c)(3), didn’t require each city to transport wildlife and domesticated animals in separate vehicles - we all know wildlife is a carrier of distemper and unvaccinated dogs would be exposed to this HORRIBLE, deadly virus. In addition, we want to understand WHY, especially when (based on how we are reading it, see video), PVAC brings in most of the money (PVAC = 1.69Million / PAWS = $216K), the sickest and most injured animals at PVAC are being DEPRIVED of medical care. If, in 2015 (we have requested 2016, with no luck), they spent $432,757 in Medical & Veterinarian care - why aren’t the dogs at PVAC, who desperately need urgent medical care, not given it? Why, if PVAC is bringing in most of the money (PVAC = 1.69Million / PAWS = $216K), are they in a facility that is filthy? We want to know, who are the “leased employees” costing 1.4 MILLION dollars? Who is/are the (“non-employees”) making $266K, what ARE the “other expenses” that cost $299K?

We want EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TIM OUSLEY
We are asking for PVAC, to RENEGOTIATE their contracts with the surrounding cities! See, PVAC has an upper hand! Where would the cities take the thousands of strays if PVAC ended their contracts? Wouldn’t a 501(c)(3), who’s “Mission Statement” reads: “Palm Valley Animal Center cares for homeless companion animals …..” use this leverage to fix THE BIGGER PROBLEM!! Cities to have laws again the sale of animals at flea markets (ohhh, the backyard breeding is another story - and the flea markets will make you lose sleep at night), mandatory spay/neutering laws (and EN FORE THEM), use the HUNDREDS OF THOUSAND of dollars and open a free/low cost spay/neutering/vaccination clinic, seems to us there is plenty of money to work with - but we are still waiting for a response. They need to require each city to use separate vehicles when transporting wild/domesticated animals. We are DEMANDING the animals at PVAC are given the same medical care as PAWS since these two facilities are under the same 501(c)(3), …. oh, the list goes on.
This problem is too big for one to take on! We have tried - we spoke to Animal Rights attorneys, who said get media coverage. We know reaching out to local News Stations won’t help and getting national coverage is impossible. Maybe this PLEA will come across the right computer screen….. maybe these tax returns will be investigated, maybe the contracts between PVAC and surrounding cities will be RENEGOTIATED keeping PVAC Mission Statement in mind when doing so,maybe the laws will change! Maybe, just maybe one day, these “Valley Dogs”, will get their second chance……
