Help Sonny fight Cancer

by , in
Sonny, A rescued puppy from Hurricane Katrina is part of Krista Gabbard's Family. She has raised him with her kids and he is now a big part of their life as well. Over the last 6 months he started getting a growth on his eye and we recently found out that it is cancer and he needs to have his eye removed. With finances how they currently are we are breaking down and asking for help. If we cannot come up with the money for the surgery, Animal control is going to take him from our home and we unsure what will happen there. It would break our hearts to lose him. They said if we remove the eye, the cancer will not return and he will be normal again.

Azella an Siberian Husky Pup needs you!

by , in
Azella an 7 Week old Siberian Husky puppy is suffering from Parvo Viral Infection and needs your attention. Parvo is almost always fatal if not treated in time. I'm(Rebecca Guerra Sesser) absolutely heartbroken and I am praying everyday that my little Azella pulls through this. She has been at the vet for 4 days and her condition was improving but it started to deteriorate again. With treatment, She has a great chance of living a healthy life and overcoming this virus. I tried to help her myself, but without the vet she won’t make it. I have no other options.
Meet Azella!
The vet bills are accumulating quickly and we have already had to pay $1500 out of pocket. Her bill is up to $7000 and is growing quickly each day. I will happily pay hundreds of thousands if I knew it would bring my best friend back to me. I’m a college student but I have left this semester to take care of her, so my income is not steady. I need all the help I can get so I can continue getting Azella the treatment she needs.
I have never met a puppy as energetic, kooky and cuddly as my Azella. She is super clumsy and loving. All of the vets at the animal hospital are fighting over who gets to monitor her because of how much she loves cuddles and people. I need her to be okay. She is my everything and I don’t want her to pass away because I couldn’t pay the vets anymore. She is my first dog and we bonded the second I held her. The only thing that’s keeping her treatment going is money. I am begging you to help my bring my sweet little girl home. Anything helps. I never wanted to ask for this money, but I have to put my pride aside so I don’t have to bury my baby.

Please donate and Spread the word!

Save Luna to cure Parvoviral Infection

by , in

A close friend’s 6-week old Cocker Spaniel puppy, Luna, has been diagnosed with parvovirus, a deadly canine virus that is known to affect dogs under 6 months old.  The virus is destroying her intestinal walls and lining, making it impossible for poor Luna to digest any food.  Her tiny body is dehydrated to dangerously low levels, and blood has been found in her vomit and excrement.  Because this virus is highly contagious and kills many dogs every year, Luna must also be kept in isolation from other animals.
Meet Luna!
Parvovirus is highly aggressive and deadly if not treated quickly, so time is of the essence. The veterinarian has prescribed treatments totaling $8,000 to save Luna’s life. These include round-the-clock IV fluid infusions, restorative nutrition treatments, palliative therapies, sedation, and antibiotics. The necessity to keep Luna isolated during her care is also very expensive.

Luna is fighting for her life right now, and she needs our help.
Luna really is the sweetest little puppy. When she’s healthy, she’s so exuberant and full of energy, just the friskiest little furball you’ve ever seen — playful, energetic, and friendly.

What is Parvovirus Infection
The canine parvovirus (CPV) infection is a highly contagious viral illness that affects dogs. The virus manifests itself in two different forms. The more common form is the intestinal form, which is characterized by vomiting, diarrhea, weight loss, and lack of appetite (anorexia). The less common form is the cardiac form, which attacks the heart muscles of very young puppies, often leading to death. The majority of cases are seen in puppies that are between six weeks and six months old. The incidence of canine parvovirus infections has been reduced radically by early vaccination in young puppies.

Please donate and help save Luna’s life.

Need your Help!! Save Polar Bear

by , in
Polar Bear is fighting for his life and we are helping him in every way we can. He was recently diagnosed with Leptospirosis and is suffering from Kidney failure associated with this bacterial disease. Sadly, we lost our first four legged baby to (most likely) the same disease about a month ago. The original veterinary hospital was so certain this was not the diagnosis, they recommended not doing the Leptospirosis test. Leptospirosis is not only highly contagious to other animals it is zoonotic to people as well. The original veterinary hospital put us all at risk and has made the fight for Polar Bear much tougher as the disease has progressed within the past month.
Meet the Dog Polar Bear!!
This is a disease you want to be aware of, as it is contracted by ingesting contaminated water or urine of infected animals. Most commonly, it is contracted by water out in the woods or hiking areas were small rodents have urinated. It is devastating that our boys were out enjoying themselves when they first were in contact with this life threatening disease.
If caught early enough, treatment is a couple of antibiotics over a course of a month. However, if the disease progresses, it attacks the kidneys and liver. Treatment for this severe of a situation is very expensive and includes hospitalization for I.V. fluids and medications. Once released from the ICU, Polar Bear has needed continuous care with medications and oral syringe feedings among other critical care. He is doing his best to continue fighting hard to make it through all of this!
He is not only a big part of our family, he is a part of many peoples lives. The kids at the academy love seeing him everyday and are so sad to see him this sick. We have a long way to go and want to be sure he has the best care, medications and diet he requires. We appreciate all of the healing thoughts and prayers for his recovery! If there is a donation of any amount to contribute to his needs at this point we would be truly grateful.
We have already spent the amount requested and will still require medications, a special diet, blood work rechecks and follow ups to ensure his full recovery. In addition, we have a large amount of debt going toward Ox's previous situation. He was misdiagnosed and the first veterinary hospital charged us a significant amount of money, then cost him his life. This is devastating to say the least, but we are focused on staying positive for Polar Bear and his current fight.

Help Buddy Rescue!!

by , in
Buddy is a 1 year old (stray), who was hit by a Truck in clarksville TN, well they didn't stop, buddy didn't die. He sat there miserably. I found him laying on the side of the road! Animal control was called, his legal 72 hour hold is up, they were going to have buddy put down because the county can't afford putting his leg back together. It is broken in two spots.(femur, and another bone) This surgery will cost $1000 plus dollars.
Buddy!! The Rescued Dog
Well, we thought we were in the clear there as they were two clean breaks,  but he is also heart worm positive! ( this will cost a good amount to clear and is an over time treatment).

This only doubles the cost to save buddy's life!We have saved about $400 total that we can pay to his bill. His total vet bill is just over 2000. All money goes directly to the  veterinarian's office, and encouraged to call! Also check out Sango Veterinary hospital
Plus a 200$ voucher from the Humane Society!

Palm Valley Animal Center (PVAC), Stop Mistreating Animals

by , in
Animal Shelter - Palm Valley Animal Center (PVAC) Located in Edinburg, Texas. They hold a 501(c)(3)[Non-Profit Organization]. They have agreements with surrounding cities. They get paid BIG bucks by surrounding cities (looks like 1.69MILLION, per 2015 tax return, Video Below) to be a dumping ground for stray dogs, cats and wildlife. Intake at this shelter is something unheard of-approximately 100+ animals are brought here, DAILY!!! You and I both know, NO shelter can house that many animals, therefore, carts and carts of animals are killed everyday.
Down the street (about 20 miles) sits a beautiful adoption center, called Laurie P Andrews (PAWS) Adoption Center. Per the tax returns, they made a mere $216K in adoptions in 2015. Again, we have tried to get explanations with no luck, therefore, we are posting how we are reading the tax returns, Video Below. They come over and pick the cream of the crop - the cute and healthy ones. Those lucky few, are move over to the PAWS adoption center. They are bathed, seen by a Veterinarian, examined, fully vaccinated and spayed/neutered. Back at PVAC, animals that are sick and have severe injuries are left to suffer with no antibiotics and/or pain medication. Dogs, including puppies & pregnant moms, are wheeled in the back daily to be killed. PVAC has no control over the condition of the animal when it arrives, but what they do behind closed doors, is our concern.

DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT REBECA VILLANUEVA to step OUT. They have, for too long, turned a blind eye to the serious problems at PVAC. Their lack of empathy and leadership is apparent, and these positions need to be held by those who not only stand behind the Mission Statement, but also fight to make changes to the cities (community) that are impacting their non-profit!

Before you start yelling out, “This place needs to be shut down”, think again. There needs to be a place for these animals. But THERE NEEDS TO BE CHANGE!
WE WANT CHANGE AND WILL NO LONGER LOOK AWAY!!!
After reviewing a few of the contractual agreements between PVAC and the surrounding cities, we were appalled that PVAC, a 501(c)(3), didn’t require each city to transport wildlife and domesticated animals in separate vehicles - we all know wildlife is a carrier of distemper and unvaccinated dogs would be exposed to this HORRIBLE, deadly virus. In addition, we want to understand WHY, especially when (based on how we are reading it, see video), PVAC brings in most of the money (PVAC = 1.69Million / PAWS = $216K), the sickest and most injured animals at PVAC are being DEPRIVED of medical care. If, in 2015 (we have requested 2016, with no luck), they spent $432,757 in Medical & Veterinarian care - why aren’t the dogs at PVAC, who desperately need urgent medical care, not given it? Why, if PVAC is bringing in most of the money (PVAC = 1.69Million / PAWS = $216K), are they in a facility that is filthy? We want to know, who are the “leased employees” costing 1.4 MILLION dollars? Who is/are the (“non-employees”) making $266K, what ARE the “other expenses” that cost $299K?

We want EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TIM OUSLEY
We are asking for PVAC, to RENEGOTIATE their contracts with the surrounding cities! See, PVAC has an upper hand! Where would the cities take the thousands of strays if PVAC ended their contracts? Wouldn’t a 501(c)(3), who’s “Mission Statement” reads: “Palm Valley Animal Center cares for homeless companion animals …..” use this leverage to fix THE BIGGER PROBLEM!! Cities to have laws again the sale of animals at flea markets (ohhh, the backyard breeding is another story - and the flea markets will make you lose sleep at night), mandatory spay/neutering laws (and EN FORE THEM), use the HUNDREDS OF THOUSAND of dollars and open a free/low cost spay/neutering/vaccination clinic, seems to us there is plenty of money to work with - but we are still waiting for a response. They need to require each city to use separate vehicles when transporting wild/domesticated animals. We are DEMANDING the animals at PVAC are given the same medical care as PAWS since these two facilities are under the same 501(c)(3), …. oh, the list goes on.
This problem is too big for one to take on! We have tried - we spoke to Animal Rights attorneys, who said get media coverage. We know reaching out to local News Stations won’t help and getting national coverage is impossible. Maybe this PLEA will come across the right computer screen….. maybe these tax returns will be investigated, maybe the contracts between PVAC and surrounding cities will be RENEGOTIATED keeping PVAC Mission Statement in mind when doing so,maybe the laws will change! Maybe, just maybe one day, these “Valley Dogs”, will get their second chance……

Rope Diggity-The Rescued Dog Story

by , in
Rope-Diggity, a Coon Hound was three months old when Rescued. Pat Chaney rescued him from a KMart parking lot where three teenagers in a truck were attempting to run him over.  A parking lot full of people and no one lifted a finger to help him. Pat was furious and drove up next to that truck and shook my fist at those fools. Those cowards drove away fast.
Rope Diggity
Rope-Diggity was instrumental in helping with my Mama’s care and would tell on her if she attempted to get up by herself during that last year when she couldn’t walk. He kept a good eye on her. He also helped me with her transition, three days before it happened, he would go to the doorway of her bedroom and look back at me with sad eyes, then come and put his paw on my knee. He was trying to tell me that she was leaving but I was in total denial. On the third day, I accepted what he was trying to tell me — that is the day Mama left us. Animals know. He mourned her too, and would not eat for a few weeks after her death. He still goes in her bedroom and stares at her bed.
Rope-Diggity
I was worried about Rope-Diggity because he had lost weight and had been listless recently, which is so unlike him. So, I scraped together some money and took him to be checked out by the vet. It turns out he has a mass over/around his Pancreas and needs exploratory surgery.
We’ve been through some tough times already. He almost didn’t make it through three bouts of Demodic Mange due to a reaction to the medicine prescribed to him,  but he is a tough guy and I’m praying he’ll make it through this ordeal too.
I don’t know what I’d do without Rope-Diggity and thought I would have him with me a little while longer. I would do anything to help him. I had planned to take him on some adventures in 2018 to reward him for being such a huge support for me, and I’m hopeful this can still happen. ‘Smelling New Things’ are his joy…and he deserves nothing but joy!!!

Meet Debjit Chaudhuri, a YouTuber who feeds Strays

by , in
Meet Debjit Chaudhuri, A Resident of Kolkata,India feeds strays in Kolkata. He takes care of 20 or so stray dogs that live near his neighborhood, providing them with the food they so desperately need.
Chaudhuri, 25, is a Magician and YouTuber. Growing up with 2 stray dogs as pets, he had a strong love for dogs. He fed the stray dogs of his neighborhood whenever he could but at the start of the year, he announced on his social media pages that his New Year’s resolution was to feed stray dogs every day.
Debjit Chaudhuri
Since then he feeds the stray dogs once a day, making a total of 3 stops along two different routes. When he pulls up to one of his regular stops, the dogs usually know him by the sound of his car. “A few of them are really friendly,” he said. “I can hug and play with them. But some are really scared. The best feeling is when you have a scared dog come up to you and lets you touch them and hug them. It can take weeks, but when it happens, it’s amazing.”
Seeing Chaudhuri’s efforts, Loyal Pet Zone, an Indian online pet store, supplied him free dog food so that all the dogs can be well fed.

Chaudhuri stated “One of the highlights of my day is when I see the look on the dog’s faces when they see me come. But deep down I knew I was only helping a few dogs and wasn’t making much of a difference. One day, my friend suggested doing what I do best – to make a video!”
So Debjit and his friend, Rohit Gupta, took a day off from work and traveled around the city filming him feed 100 dogs one-by-one, in hopes of inspiring more people to feed stray dogs and to also show how friendly they are.

Help WINSTON to Recover

by , in
Winston, A Bernese Mountain Dog  needs your Support!!! A massive tumor (grapefruit-sized) was found in Winston's upper left thigh near his groin.  The tumor is pressing against his femoral artery, blocking blood-flow out of his leg causing severe edema. The leg needs to be amputated as soon as possible to save his life. The tumor was found on Dec 30, 2017. His leg has declined rapidly since then. If nothing is done Winston may not survive into February. All funds will be used to pay for the amputation and associated costs.
Winston

Just like any pet, Winston is a dear member of the family. It would hurt horribly to lose him. He brings great joy and big smiles to every person he meets. He is only 7 years old and has so much life left inside him. He also has a dog-brother named "Edmond the Explorer" who would miss him dearly, as we all would.
Winston with his bestie!!!
Any portion you can give
Anything... would be so incredibly appreciated. Every person who gives will be mentioned and thanked within Winston's very own recovery video, coming soon! Please include your name and address to receive an appreciation letter as well as an autographed photo of "Winston the Great" (autographed by Winston, of course - who will be famous someday).
Winston Treatment Expenses
Thank you once again for taking time to hear Winston's situation. I'm not typically one to ask for help - but right now, I have to.  Please,  Please  share this with at least 3 people... or 5 people, or even 10 people if you could. That is one sure way you can help. EVERYTHING helps!!! If all you can do is forward this to 10 people, I'll take it - and I'll thank you by sending an autographed photo of Winston, just like with everyone else who is helping...  send me a personal note telling me you shared Winston's story and I'm happy to include you in the letter and commemorative video. The doctors want to operate as soon as possible; time is of the essence. Thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers.
